In my opinion, if you have a good reason such as you are very allergic (which you should have known before you got married), the pet can’t be house trained, the pet attacks you, talk to your spouse about the problems. If it is just a case of you are not an animal lover and your spouse is, live with it. It might be a deal breaker and your spouse may decide he/she prefers the company of his/her pet to you. The pet’s feelings must be considered also. If it has been with the family for a long time, losing its home could send it into a deep depression.
